Welcome to AccountBook. This Privacy Policy explains how SaRa Studios ("we," "us," or "our")
collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our
AccountBook mobile application (the "App").
AccountBook is designed with a Local-First Architecture, prioritizing your privacy, speed, and offline capability by keeping your primary data encrypted on your own device. Please read this policy carefully to understand how your data is handled.
On-Device Data Storage & Encryption
Your Data Lives on Your Device First: Unlike cloud-only applications, AccountBook stores your account records, transactions, categories, and running balances directly on your mobile device in an encrypted local database.

Secure On-Device Storage: All local financial records are protected using strong AES encryption. Encryption keys are securely stored using the device's secure key storage mechanisms where supported by the operating system.

Offline Capabilities: The core bookkeeping features of the App are available offline. Some features, such as cloud synchronization, sign-in, and advertisements, require an internet connection.

Secure Cloud Synchronization: When an active network connection is available, changes synchronize securely with cloud storage. Data is encrypted during transmission using secure HTTPS/TLS connections and protected while stored using industry-standard security measures.
Information We Collect
1. Account & Authentication Information
When you register or sign in, we collect basic authentication information, including:
- Email address
- Display name (optional)
- Account creation timestamps
2. Financial & User-Generated Content
You enter financial data to manage your personal or business ledger, including:
- Account names and starting balances
- Transaction amounts, dates, descriptions, and categories
- Recurring payment schedules
This data is saved directly on your phone and backed up securely to your private account when connected to the internet.

User Preferences: Dark mode settings, app theme choices, and security options saved on your device.

Technical Device Information: Certain technical device information may be collected by third-party services (such as Firebase or Google AdMob) for security, sync conflict resolution, analytics, and reliability purposes.
4. Biometric Data
If you choose to enable Biometric Lock (Fingerprint / Face Unlock), authentication is processed 100% locally by your mobile device's operating system. We never collect, see, or store your biometric data on our servers.
Data Import & Export Features
File Import (CSV / Excel)
Imported files are parsed locally on your device and written directly to your local encrypted database. Imported files may be subject to size and format limitations to ensure reliable performance.
File Export (PDF / CSV / Excel)
Generating financial statements (PDF, CSV, Excel) is performed entirely on your device. Exported documents are saved to your local storage or shared via native OS share tools at your explicit direction.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly for the following operational purposes:
- Providing offline financial ledger tools, balance calculations, and statement generation
- Synchronizing your data across your authorized devices
- Protecting your records with local encryption and optional biometric locks
- Displaying non-intrusive advertisements (e.g., optional rewarded ad views for file features)
- Providing support and addressing user feedback
Third-Party Services
AccountBook integrates with industry-standard third-party providers:

Data Security & Retention
We utilize industry-standard technical measures including local database encryption, secure transmission protocols (TLS/HTTPS), and access controls. Your data remains stored in your app and linked cloud profile for as long as your account exists.
Data Control and Deletion Rights
You have complete control over your data directly within the App:
- Delete Transactions: Permanently remove individual transaction records.
- Delete Accounts: Delete entire financial ledgers and associated transaction records.
- Delete User Account: Permanently delete your profile from User Settings, purging all local databases and cloud records.

App Permissions
AccountBook requests standard device permissions:
- Internet: For cloud sync and ad delivery when online.
- Storage / Media: For saving exported PDF/Excel statements and picking CSV/Excel files to import.
- Biometric Hardware: Optional, to unlock the app with fingerprint or Face ID.
Children's Privacy
AccountBook is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
